Costs:
The cost of this litter will be $1,871.40 + $128.66 (6.875% MN sales tax) = $2,000 total. A non-refundable down payment of $600 will be required to hold reservations.

First Contact Waiting List:
We keep a no-obligation list of prospective buyers who would like to be contacted once a litter is born. With a few exceptions, people on our waiting list will be contacted in the order of the list before we post puppy availability to the general public. No deposit is required,  Please share your email address and phone number if you would like to be placed on the list. If puppies have already been born at the time you contact us, we will call you and discuss reservation. The breeder(s) reserve the right to bump families of previous buyers and/or buyers interested in show quality puppies to the front of the list (see First Pick Option below). Our only request is that you let us know ASAP if you would like to be removed from the list so we can keep it updated.

Reserving a puppy:
Once they are born, puppies can be reserved for a non-refundable deposit of $600. We will reserve a puppy for you for up to 72 hours without a deposit to allow time for delivery of deposit. These holds can be placed over the phone or by email. Reservation contracts will be sent upon request and to approved families on the waiting list after the puppies are born. Simply fill out a reservation contract and mail it to the address on the contract or you can scan and email the signed copy to me (I do not have fax). All payments should be in the form of cash or bank check (money order). Personal checks can be accepted but require up to 10 days to clear our bank, so it is nice to receive payment at the time you pick out your puppy (about 2 weeks prior to release date).

First Pick Option is for buyers who indicate a serious commitment to showing and/or breeding their dogs and/or the owners of the sire and dam. The breeder(s) reserve the option to bump these families to the first pick position of either or both sexes on the list, in order to place show quality dogs with these families. An additional $50 nonrefundable reservation fee will be required to hold this type of reservation and a separate “Unlimited” contract, which includes specific requirements for earning breeding rights, will be provided. Families who happen to first on the waiting list but do NOT plan to show or breed their dogs will not be expected to pay the extra fee and will use a regular “limited” (no breeding rights) contract.

Once you reserve a puppy, you will receive weekly photo updates and puppy information via email so you can watch your puppy grow!

Payment:
We are required to collect Minnesota state sales tax (6.875%). Puppies cannot be released until all payments have cleared, so we recommend that you send an advance payment of the balance before you plan to pick up your puppy. We encourage you to make arrangements to pick out your puppy after they are 5 weeks old, but at least a week before release date. Puppies will be selected in the order in which they are reserved, with the exception of those who are using the First Pick option. You will need to decide whether want a male or a female at the time you place your reservation, with extra flexibility in puppy selection order for those who are willing to adopt either sex. If you are unable to pick out your puppy in advance in person, we will do our best to meet your needs over the phone and by sending photos over the email. We will save a puppy that meets the closest description you are looking for.

Delivery:

We do not ship puppies (with a few exceptions) and make it a selling point to meet with every buyer, as it is important to us that our puppies are placed in loving homes. We typically make one delivery to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and anywhere in between and have occasionally made arrangements with other buyers to help with delivery.

Please note: This litter will be sold with a spay/neuter contract, per agreement with the owner of our stud dog.

Because these puppies will have conformation, obedience, and field champion potential, we encourage buyers to train and show their dogs. Serious individuals with interest in breeding to improve the Golden Retriever line will need to speak with me in person regarding conditions for earning breeding rights. Breeding rights will continue to be owned by Windhill Kennel unless all specified conditions are met.
