Our puppies are guaranteed to be in good health at the time of sale. They will be vet checked, vaccinated, and de-wormed shortly before they turn 8 weeks of age (the approximate date of sale). Dew claws are removed during their first week.

Our health guarantee is in compliance with MN State Law 325.791 “Sales of Dogs and Cats” – click to see link:   Image result for MN statutes, sale of dogs

If, within 10 days after you purchase your puppy, a veterinarian states, in writing, that your puppy has a health problem which existed at the time of delivery, you will receive a refund of full purchase price or reimbursement for reasonable veterinary fees, proved such reimbursements do not exceed the original purchase price of the puppy. All puppies are guaranteed for one (1) year from date of purchase against non-treatable congenital or hereditary defects, including hip dysplasia, elbow, and hereditary eye disorders. We reserve the right to ask for a second opinion from another veterinarian if circumstances are questionable.

Both parents of your puppy have a long history of having virtually no health problems in their lineage. As with most breeds, Golden Retrievers are at risk for certain heriditary disorders, so it is important for breeding dogs to pass health screenings through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) in hereditary risk areas. In Goldens, certifications for hips, elbows, eyes, heart, and thyroid are strongly recommended.

OFA certification information for each of our dogs can be viewed through the link below each dog’s profile on the Our Dogs page.

We strongly recommend that you have the puppy examined by your veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase. Your vet can then establish a vaccination and worming schedule, as well as make recommendations regarding tick and heartworm prevention and spay/neutering. We also recommend daily exercise and a healthy diet to keep your dog in the best condition possible.
